Coming off a season where they finished 10-13 and finished fifth in the TVC-Hocking, the Trimble Tomcats boys basketball squad is on the prowl.

With the season starting on Tuesday, Dec. 10, head coach Kurt Moore and company want to bring the winning ways of the football team to the hardwood.

Trimble’s football team will battle Marion Local for the Division VII State football crown at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in Massillon, Ohio. With a win, the Tomcats would bring Glouster their first ever state football title.

There are rumors spreading around the area that the Trimble football seniors may not play on the basketball squad this season. These rumors will be proven either fact or fiction after the game’s result this weekend. Coach Moore could not be reached for comment.

With senior players such as Konner Standley, Jacob Koons, Jake Kish and Wyatt Bragg playing both on the field as well as the hardwood, Moore could be looking at a youthful roster if the seniors decide not to play.

If the seniors do potentially play, Trimble could have a veteran team since they only lost their two seniors Cody Bragg and Wyatt Deak from last season.

If the seniors do not decide to play, the Tomcats would be losing their floor general in Standley, an All-TVC Hocking performer in Kish and two of their top scorers in Jacob Koons and Wyatt Bragg.
