Alexander Local Schools officials say that ammunition found on its Albany campus caused a lockdown Friday.
In a message released by the district, "authorities were called and the incident was investigated."
Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly released a statement on his Facebook page saying that the school is secure and there was no apparent threat to students or staff. He said all children and staff were accounted for and safe.
Deputies determined that there was no weapon at the school and that it was safe to dismiss students.
