Flooding Closes Area Roads
< < Back toAn advisory from the Athens County Pubic Information Officer Network reports that four area roads have been closed because of flooding.
- County Road 4, Glenn Ebon Road, US Route 33 to the Hocking River
- Sections of County Road 24, Harmony Road
- Sections of County Road 58, Frost Road
- Sections of County Road 109, Beebe Road
The advisory warns motorists of the danger of driving into high water and asks motorists to avoid the flooded roadways entirely.
The Hocking River in Athens rose out of its banks in a few places Monday morning though the waters were largely contained.
The National Weather Service is calling for colder temperatures with a 30 percent chance of snow tonight and Tuesday.
