A handful of acts have been added to the 10th annual Nelsonville Music Festival, scheduled for May 29 to June 1 at Robbins Crossing on the campus of Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio.
Saturday headliners The Avett Brothers will be joined by Ray Wylie Hubbard, Shakey Graves, Pokey LaFarge, Grupo Fantasma, Pierced Arrows, The Men, Michael Hurley, Jessica Hernandez & The Deltas, Saintseneca, Motel Beds, Tweens and Tim Pfaff.
Host organization Stuart's Opera House have confirmed that many more acts will be announced in the coming months. The annual four-day festival features more than 40 bands on multiple stages, along with camping, kids' activities, local artisan vendors, food, a beer garden, and much more.
Called "one of the best-kept secrets of the U.S. festival circuit" by Billboard magazine and praised by former headliner Andrew Bird ("It's the perfect size festival. Any bigger and you'd lose something."), the Nelsonville Music Festival continues to be one of the best in the region and one of the country's most unique fests.
Past performers have included Wilco, The Flaming Lips, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, John Prine, Cat Power, Iron & Wine, Andrew Bird, Neko Case, Yo La Tengo, George Jones, Gogol Bordello and M.Ward.
The festival is a production of Stuart’s Opera House, a historic, non-profit theater located in Nelsonville that features more than 75 events a year, including live music, theater, films, educational programming and more.
Weekend passes for all four days are on sale now for $100, with the price going up each month until May. Camping passes and VIP weekend passes are also on sale now. Tickets and more information can be found at www.nelsonvillefest.org, on Facebook and Twitter or by calling (740) 753-1924.
