Football Writers Association of America named Ohio defensive end Tarell Basham to their Freshman All-America team.
Basham started five games in his first season with the Green and White finishing the year with 32 tackles and 7.5 sacks, which is fifth best in school history for a single season.
Ohio's stud defensive end joins Western Michigan wide receiver Corey Davis as the only representatives from the Mid-American Conference.
Also earning honors were Heisman winner Jameis Winston and Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn who compete Monday night in the BCS National Champoinship Game.
