Based on filings so far to qualify for primaries on May 6th, Governor John Kasich will face two challengers this fall.
Democrat Ed Fitzgerald, Libertarian Charlie Earl, and Kasich have each filed a required number of signatures from the Secretary of State's office ahead of today's 4 p.m. deadline.
Kasich and Fitzgerald were required to collect 1,000 valid signatures of registered Ohio voters, and Earl had to receive 500 as a minor party candidate.
