Radio listeners will hear a new afternoon voice as WOUB welcomes Robin Barnes as afternoon announcer.

Barnes grew up in Coshocton, Ohio, but has resided in Athens almost 20 years. She’s an Ohio University alumna and has worked at local commercial radio stations for 17 years.

WOUB Director of Radio Rusty Smith is thrilled to add Robin to the radio staff.

“Robin has a fabulous voice and presence in the community,” said Smith. “She understands the listeners of Southeastern Ohio and we think she’ll add a lot of personality to the public radio format.”

Smith added, “She’ll be a valuable addition to our air staff. I look forward to working with her.”

Listeners will hear Barnes from 1-7 p.m. on WOUB-FM available from five transmitters - 91.3 Athens, 89.1 Cambridge, 89.1 Ironton, 91.9 Chillicothe and 90.1 Zanesville. The signal can be heard online at woub.org/listenlive.
