More details are being released about a redevelopment project in Huntington, including the demolition of the Northcott Court housing project along Hal Greer Boulevard.
WSAZ reports the demolition of Northcott Court will be done in stages during a two-to three year period.
The Housing Authority has started vacating the buildings facing Hal Greer Boulevard and are hoping to finish that process by May, with the demolition of those buildings slated to be finished by the end of June.
As for converting that area into commercial development, the city said neighbors have requested a grocery store be built on the property. They say they will do everything possible to honor that request.
