AP Announces Southeast All-District Teams

The Associated Press released its annual Southeast Ohio All-District Teams for both boys and girls on Wednesday. The ballers of the TVC were well represented.

BOYS

In Division II, the boys from the Plains, Joe Burrow and Ibi Watson, were named to the First Team All-District. Fellow Bulldog Ryan Luehrman was named to the Special Mention Team.

Meigs Marauders’ Damon Jones was named to the All-District Third Team. Alex Owings from Vinton County was also named to All-District Third Team.

Marauder Isiah English and Viking Jordan Albright were named to the Special Mention team in Division II.

Nelsonville-York senior Josh Fayette earned the highest honor for a TVC player in Division III, as he was named to the All-District Second Team. Fayette’s teammate Colt Adams was named to the All-District Third Team.

Alexander’s Jordan Moseley and Mason Chapman were named to the All-District Third Team and the Special Mention Team, respectively.

Junior Ivan Santiago was the lone Lancer to be named All-District as he was added to the All-District Third Team. Santiago had a great season as he took over the point guard role when Cliff Bonner went down with a broken right hand.

Caleb Stanley for the Wellston Rockets was also named to the Special Mention Team in Division III.

The boys from Glouster had a great season this year, being the only team from the TVC to punch their ticket to the Convocation Center. Junior Micah Couch was named to the All-District First Team, while teammate Jacob Koons was named to the All-District Third Team.

The Southern Tornadoes were well represented as Dennis Teaford and Taylor McNickle were named to the All-District Third Team and Special Mention, respectively.

The Eastern boys were only able to get two victories on the season, but Jett Facemyer was named to the Special Mention Team.

GIRLS

Moving over the ladies of the TVC, Dominque Doseck was named to the All-District First Team and was also named Player of the Year in the district in Division II. Her coach, Wayne Horsley, was named Co-Coach of the Year in Division II. Hannah DeBruin and Olivia Harris were named to the All-District Second Team for the Lady Bulldogs. The recognition didn’t stop there, as Rachael Gilkey and Elyse Lutz were named to the Special Mention Team for the Lady Bulldogs.

Michaela Puckett capped of her great sophomore season by being named to the All-District First Team. Her teammates Megan Dixon and Jamee Park were named to the Special Mention Team for the Lady Vikings from Vinton County.

Madison Davis had a great season on the hardwood, and she wrapped it up with being named to the All-District First Team in Division III. Fellow Lady Buckeyes Angela Meade and Jennah Addis were named to the All-District Third Team and the Special Mention Team, respectively.

Lexi Humphrey of the Lady Rockets capped her great junior season by being named to the All-District Second Team. Her teammate Alexis Hopkins was named to the Special Mention in Division III.

Allyson Malone and Marilyn Rankin from Alexander were named to the All-District Third Team and Special Mention, respectively.

Ashton Cale capped her Federal Hocking career with a tough playoff loss to Southeastern but a bright spot for her, as she was named to the Special Mention in Division III.

Another lady baller, Kelsey Hudson for the Lady Marauders proved she will be a force to be reckoned with next season, but was only named to the Special Mention squad this season.

In no shock to no one, Eastern Eagles Jenna Burdette and Jordan Parker capped their great careers in Reedsville with All-District First Team honors in Division IV. Jenna was also named Player of the Year in Division IV. Jenna’s father, John Burdette, was named Coach of the Year.

Erin Swatzel was named to the All-District Second Team for the Lady Eagles. Maddie Rigsby and Katie Keller were named to the All-District Third Team, while teammate Laura Pullins was given Special Mention.

Celestia Hendrix brought home the All-District Second team honor home to Racine, while teammate Cierra Turley brought home All-District Third Team.

Ali Bray was the only Miller Falcon to bring home a postseason honor as she brought home the All-District Third Team.

The ladies from Glouster, unlike the boys, had a tough season. Morgan Murphy was given the Special Mention for her good season.
