Two sources close to the Ohio men’s basketball team confirmed that forward Jon Smith’s locker was cleaned out on Monday, and he did not practice with the team. Smith left the Athens campus for Columbus, Ohio, according to the source.

The Bobcats play Cleveland State Wednesday in the first round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament. Another source close to the team couldn’t confirm if Smith will or will not be playing in the game.

WOUB reached out to Smith for a comment Wednesday afternoon, leaving a message on his voicemail.

Smith played in 34 games for the Bobcats this season, averaging 7.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game.

Tipoff for Wednesday’s game is at 7 p.m.
