Ohio guard Nick Kellogg has been selected to play in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, a showcase for the top seniors in college basketball. The tournament features eight teams and takes place April 16-19 in Portsmouth, Va.
Kellogg, who will play for Roger Brown’s Restaurant in the tournament, led the Bobcats in scoring this season, averaging 15.5 points a game while shooting 46 percent from the floor and 39 percent from 3-point range. The senior guard also became that all-time leader in 3-pointers in both Ohio and MAC history this season with 290 career triples. Kellogg’s performance this season earned him Second-Team All-MAC honors.
Some of the other notable players on the Roger Brown’s Restaurant roster include Jordair Jett, the Atlantic-10 Player of the Year at Saint Louis, UMass star Chaz Williams and Taylor Braun, who played under Saul Phillips at North Dakota State.
Kellogg’s selection marks the second straight year that Ohio will be represented at the PIT, as D.J. Cooper competed in the tournament last season.
