Former Ohio tight end and captain Jordan Thompson reached an agreement with the National Football League's Detroit Lions Friday after participating in mini camp this week.

Thompson went undrafted a year ago after graduating from Ohio. He caught 60 career passes for the Green and White.

Thompson served as a captain for head coach Frank Solich during the 2011 and 2012 seasons. His redshirt senior season came to an end after a knee injury against Buffalo on Oct. 6, 2012.
