In an impressive four years as a Bobcat, Ohio distance runner Juli Accurso went out on top. On the last day of the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, she was named Most Outstanding Track Performer on her home turf.

Accurso earned her ninth individual MAC title when she took the 5000m title in 16:27.56. Earlier in the meet, on Thursday night, she won the 10,000m run with a meet-record time of 34:32.59.

Accurso did the heaving lifting for the Bobcats, as she scored 20 of her team’s 41 points. Her efforts were still not enough, as Ohio took 10th.

Another senior, Melissa Thompson, ran well on the final day, earning seventh in the 1500m run.

Running in the 5000m with Accurso, Bobcats Kayla Scott and Krista Roehling placed 12th and 15th in the event, respectively.

In the field, freshman Taylor Smith scored two points for the Bobcats with a 1.61m mark in the high jump.

Senior Alexa Macri went out with her best throw yet in the discus with a 43.45m throw.
