The Under the Elms 2014 summer concert series will temporarily relocate to another outdoor venue on College Green due to construction scheduled to place this summer.
The music series, which has been taking place nearly every summer since the late 1940s, gathers community and Ohio University musicians for weekly concerts over a period of five weeks.
The concerts are traditionally held on the College Green under the mature elm trees that shade the space between Chubb Hall and Memorial Auditorium.
This year, however, they will be held near by in the amphitheater outside of Scripps Hall. The concerts begin June 4 and run through July 2, each taking place 7 p.m.
Rehearsals for the "Communiversity Band" are scheduled for the day before each concert date. Rehearsals will be held at Athens High School.
The concert series rain location remains the same. If inclement weather affects the evening’s performance, the show will take place inside Memorial Auditorium.
