Top-Notch Talent On Tap For Ribs, Rhythm & Blues

The 7th Annual Ribs, Rhythm & Blues is scheduled for this Saturday, June 7 at Chesterhill's Union Hall Theater, featuring delicious dishes and top-notch talent.

The non-profit theater is presenting internationally acclaimed blues artist Teeny Tucker and her seven-piece band as this year's entertainment. 

Tucker's 2013 release, Voodoo To Do You, reached number five on the Living Blues Radio Chart. Her Sun Sessions TV episode, recorded live in 2011 at the famous Sun Studio in Memphis, aired on PBS TV stations in 376 U.S. markets.

She was the Monterey Bay 2010 Blues Artist of the Year and an Artist of the Year nominee at the Blues Music Awards (2012, 2014) and Blues Blast Awards (2008, 2011, 2013).

Tucker and her cowriter/bandleader Robert Hughes were also finalists in the prestigious International Songwriting Competition for their song "Love Spell." 

Teeny Tucker has performed at blues festivals all over the U.S. and in Sweden, France, Switzerland, Belgium and Italy. Her engagements this summer include: the Tremblant International Blues Festival in Quebec; the North Atlantic Blues Festival, Rockland, Maine; and the Beaches International Jazz Festival in Toronto. 

She has been invited to appear on the same bill with great blues artists such as B.B. King, Koko Taylor, Etta James, Buddy Guy, The Holmes Brothers, Calvin Owens, Robert Cray, Keb Mo, Deanna Bogart, Kenny Neal, Bobby Rush, John Mayall and many others.

Saturday's ribs dinner is available by advance ticket only. Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for those under 18. Call 740-554-3271 for details.
