Attention Wellston High School alumni! Were you in a past production of a play at WHS and always wanted to perform again? Did you ever regret never trying out for a play in high school? Well, here's your chance to be on stage once more.
Wellston’s Drama Club Director Gretchen Crabtree is searching for a cast and crew for an upcoming fall play fundraiser that will benefit the WHS Drama Club.
According to Crabtree, the play is open to all Wellston alumni, whether they have performed in plays in the past or not. The play is called I'm Sorry the Bridge is Out, You'll Have to Spend the Night.
The play is a musical, set in a haunted house and has every monster you can think of, such as Dracula, Igor, Frankenstein, the Mummy and the Wolfman, who are all under one roof. The musical is written by Bobby Pickett, who wrote "Monster Mash."
"It takes about 19 performing people and we are in need of men," explained Crabtree. "We need a lot of people to help pull this off. We also need help with sets, costumes, lighting, sound and publicity. It should be a lot of fun."
Auditions for the play will be held sometime after the Coal Festival is finished. At this point in time, the play is tentatively scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7 and Saturday, Nov. 8.
If you are interested in performing or helping with the sets, costumes, lighting, sound or publicity, contact Gretchen Crabtree at 740-384-5550.
