You know by now that Columbus is full of food trucks, offering restaurant-quality meals at informal settings. Here’s our guide for how to find the best ones.

If you love food trucks, you’re in luck – the Columbus Food Truck Festival takes place Aug. 15-16, noon to 10 p.m. both days. Come down to Columbus Commons and sample food from more than 50 trucks!

This event is hugely popular, so plan to arrive early if you want to stake out an area of lawn for your picnic blanket. Better yet, take a hint from the trucks and stay mobile.

There are plenty more annual food truck events, including the Ohio Family Food Truck Festival at the Ohio History Connection Aug. 23-24. Food trucks from around the state combine with kid-friendly entertainment like bands and bounce houses. For even more, search at www.experiencecolumbus.com.

Some of the best trucks are easy to find because they never move. Local favorites include Mya’s Fried Chicken and Ray Ray’s Hog Pit in Clintonville, Junior’s Tacos in Victorian Village and Los Guachos on the West Side.

If you like variety, there also are some great spots in Columbus where a rotating cast of trucks show up on given days. Dinin’ Hall in Franklinton provides indoor, real-table seating  for the customers of the rotating trucks that are there.

And if you like local craft beer with your food, you’re in so much luck. You can find a rotating cast of trucks at Zauber Brewing in Grandview and at Seventh Son Brewing Co. in Italian Village.
