Portland, Oregon's Vagabond Opera will roll into Marietta's Adelphia Music Hall on Tuesday, Feb. 5, performing a lively mix of Balkan music, Klezmer and Parisian hot club jazz.

Female voices and medieval melodies will echo throughout the Union Hall Theater when the Calliope Feminist Choir joins forces with Silent Lion this Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

The Athens-based choir will perform several songs that were composed or arranged by women, followed by Chesterhill residents John and Barbiel Saunders with their unique blend of medieval, Celtic, bluegrass, Spanish and original acoustic music.

Rock concerts typically allow the audience to leave the venue feeling like they "know" the performers more intimately than they did before the show.

Not Morrissey.

On Tuesday, Jan. 22, Morrissey finally performed at Columbus’ LC Pavilion after cancelling his October 2012 date.

Although diehard fans were upset over missing a highly anticipated performance from one of the most iconic musicians of the past 20 years, any resentment faded quickly when Morrissey strode out onto the stage with his band.

The Ohio University School of Music will present a flute recital by Sarah Frisof on Friday, Jan. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Glidden Recital Hall.

This program will feature Daniel Pesca on piano and works by Bach, Martino, Kuhlau, Enescu and Ichiyanagi.

Currently the assistant professor of flute at University of Texas at Arlington, Dr. Sarah Frisof completed her doctoral work at the University of Michigan.

Dr. Frisof also studied at the Juilliard School and the Eastman School of Music.

Music fans and record collectors gathered at Stuart's Opera House for the 4th annual Cabin Fever Festival on Saturday, Jan. 19.

In addition to several used record vendors and music posters from Marietta's Just A Jar, the evening featured performances from Dolfish, Tim Easton, Cotton Jones and Freakwater.

This year's headliner is alt-country band Freakwater, known for their half-dozen recordings on the Thrill Jockey label.
