This past weekend marked the 2013 All Good Music Festival. It was the second year of being located at Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio, and it attracted its usual eclectic crowd of festers.

There were hippies, trustafarians, deadheads, ravers, wookies, weirdos, hipsters and country-folk in addition to families and children.   

It’s not often you see all these people in the same place for the same reason, but that’s the beauty of an event like All Good.

But once a year, Collura switches gears, puts on his event planner hat and hosts one of the best summer parties in the region--The Diamond Music Festival, scheduled for this Friday and Saturday at Lake Logan.

Stuart’s Opera House continues its Free Summer Concert Series this Friday, July 26 at 7 p.m. with songwriter Sean Rowe.

Rowe, who has drawn praise from No Depression and The San Francisco Chronicle, came of age listening to his father’s record collection featuring The Beach Boys, Elvis Presley and more. But in his teen years, it was soul and blues of John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, Marvin Gaye and Ray Charles that spoke to the bourgeoning singer-songwriter.

Michael Bolton said he was very impressed with both the Lancaster Campus venue and the Lancaster Festival Orchestra after performing on the Wendel Concert Stage Saturday night.

"It was a beautiful location," said Bolton. "It was a really great night."

The multiple Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter did a meet-and-greet with about 30 fans in the Lancaster Campus student lounge immediately following the concert. He also signed books and CDs near the stage after that.

The Ohio University Performing Arts Series will present country music duo Thompson Square on Sunday, Sept. 8 at 7:30 p.m. in Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.

Husband-and-wife team Keifer and Shawna Thompson received their first taste of mainstream success with the release of the Grammy-nominated "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not." The single spent five consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.
