2012 was quite a year, but I can’t say it was great for music (four words: Daniel Johnston, Space Ducks).

Sitar virtuoso Ravi Shankar passed away yesterday at the age of 92.

Back in June of 2001, I had the privilege to talk with him about his career and his new live recording, Full Circle: Carnegie Hall

On hearing the news today, I thought it fitting to search through our vaults and post the audio.

The Ohio University Communiversity Band and the Athens Community Music School Children’s Chorus will present their annual Holiday Concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16 at Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium.

This event is sponsored by the Ohio University Credit Union and will feature holiday music, including an audience sing-along. The concert is free and families are encouraged to attend.
