The Ohio University Performing Arts Series will welcome the award-winning Golden Dragon Acrobats to Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m.

Recognized throughout the United States and abroad as the premiere Chinese acrobatic touring company of today, the Golden Dragon Acrobats represent the best of a time-honored tradition that began more than 25 centuries ago.

For more than 30 years, the Acrobats have performed in all 50 states and in 65 countries on five continents.

Made up of actors, athletes and artists, the troupe members perform spellbinding feats of physical daring and grace, enhanced by elaborate traditional costumes in brilliant colors and a combination of ancient and contemporary theatrical techniques.

The Golden Dragon Acrobats earned two New York Drama Desk Award nominations for the company’s 2005 Broadway run at the New Victory Theater (Angela Chang for Outstanding Choreography and Danny Chang for Most Unique Theatrical Experience).

Danny Chang, director of the troupe and world-renowned impresario, and Angela Chang, choreographer, combine acrobatics, traditional dance, spectacular costumes, ancient and contemporary music and theatrical techniques to present a show of breathtaking skill and spellbinding beauty.

Tickets for Wednesday's show are $12 for students, $18 for seniors and $20 for general audience. For more information, visit www.ohio.edu/performingarts, call 740-593-1780 or stop by the Memorial Auditorium ticket office.
