UPDATE 11/29/12 @ 10:25 a.m.

The Athens Fire Department has released the name of the man who was injured Wednesday around 5 p.m. at the Ohio University Schoonover Center for Communication construction site.

Captain Kenneth Gilbraith said construction worker Aaron Conrad was working with a crane that was moving a stack of heavy concrete boards.

Gilbraith said Conrad somehow got caught in between the boards.

Conrad was taken to O'Bleness Memorial Hospital and later transported to a hospital in Columbus.

Conrad was released from the hospital last night with non-life threatening injuries.

Law enforcement officials say an iron construction worker was injured Wednesday while on the job at Ohio University's Schoonover Center for Communication site.

The OU Police Department and the Athens Fire Department received a call shortly after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and responded to the construction site on East Union Street, where they removed the man from the roof of the building.

Athens Fire Department Captain Bruce Smith confirmed that the man, whose name has not been released, was being transported to O'bleness Memorial Hospital.

An OU police officer said the worker was "banged up pretty bad," and said a life flight helicopter had been called on standby.

As of 6:25 p.m., officials were still on the scene and were unable to provide specific details about the cause of the injury or the man's condition.
