West Virginia lawmakers may be asked to consider another incentive to lure a multibillion-dollar chemical processing plant to the state.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin said he hasn't ruled out a proposal that involves the potential location for one of these cracker plants.

Tomblin discussed the possibility during his first interview since last week's trip to Houston in the quest for one or more of these facilities.

The governor told The Associated Press that the lengthy meeting with potential investors was aided by the property tax break that the Legislature fast-tracked to passage last week.

A cracker converts or cracks the molecules in a byproduct from Marcellus shale natural gas into a widely used chemical compound. One industry estimates says a West Virginia plant could create more than 12,000 permanent jobs.
