The man who allegedly robbed the Foodland Market has been caught in Huron County after he attempted another robbery, according to the Athens County Sheriff's Office.

Michael J. Fette, 46, of Lancaster, was arrested after a botched robbery of another grocery store in which he tied up the employees and reportedly stole $30,000.

Fette has been identified as the man that robbed the Foodland store in The Plains on Aug. 18.

According to a report by Sheriff Patrick Kelly, Fette "used the same method as used in the Foodland robbery…" and when managers entered the Huron County store, Fette fled the store.

Fette was arrested by officers who just happened to be responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle parked at the back of the store. That vehicle turned out to be Fette's car.

A 9 millimeter handgun and clothes used in all the robberies were seized, Kelly said and $30,000 was found in his possession.

Fette will be charged in Athens County and "a number of other counties," according to Kelly.
