The title of the exhibit may be Fowl Weather, but you're not likely to see anything that will put you in a foul mood.

Painter Lisa Schorr’s show opened Thursday, Jan. 24 in the Raymond S. Wilkes Gallery for the Visual Arts at Ohio University Lancaster.

"Hopefully, [attendees] will see happiness. I think there is happiness in the simplicity of the execution of the Rainy Day series," said Schorr.

Schorr is a self-taught artist from Lancaster who mainly does watercolor paintings. She said she does not remember a time in her life when she did not paint.

"Art doesn’t have to be extremely complicated with many, many layers," said Schorr. "It can be light and just joyful."

Schorr hopes the show in the 5th floor gallery in Brasee Hall will put smiles on the faces of everyone who sees it.

"I just want people to leave with the feeling that we’re kind of all in this together, trudging along under our umbrellas and getting over all the bumps in the road," she said.

The exhibit runs through Feb. 22.
