During the last signing period, the Ohio Men’s Golf Program gained two new recruits for the 2013-2014 season in Peyton J. White from Huntersville, N.C., and Randall “Ty” Herriott from Brandywine, Md. Both players have had very successful high school careers and should bring a lot of talent to the Bobcat golf team.

White attended William A. Hough High School in North Carolina and racked several awards player for their golf team. He was named to the First Team All-Conference in both 2011 and 2012, made First Team All-Lake Norman in 2011 and played well enough to earn the title of “Most Improved Golfer” on his team in the spring of 2011.

White also worked well with his team, traveling with them to compete in the 4A High School State Championship his freshman year. He went on to place second with his team at the high school conference championship match as sophomore and then in 2012, finished second in the conference as a junior.

Throughout this career he earned eight top-ten finishes, six top-five results, and two first-place finishes. White will bring this impressive record to Athens in fall of 2013.

Herriott will be traveling to Ohio University from Calverton High School in Maryland.

While attending Calverton Herriott had a very successful individual career. In his most recent tournaments, he posted scores that earned him finishes no lower than 25th.

In his past 10 competitions, Herriott posted six top-ten finishes, four top-five results and one first place title. In the 2012 Maryland Junior Amateur tournament he shot 71-72 to finish the tournament with a final score of 143 which helped him rank atop the field of 30 golfers.

Herriott maintained a 74.35 average during his most recent individual season. During this season he recorded his career low round of 68 during the MAPGA Junior Championship in June of 2012.
