Ohio Volleyball announced Monday that the program will welcome two new student-athletes for the 2013 season.

Alexis Pinson, a middle blocker, and Brooke Coleman, a setter, will sport the Green and White this fall. Pinson is a graduate student transfer from Arizona State, and Coleman is an incoming freshman from Plano West High School in Plano, Texas.

In her three years as a Sun Devil, Pinson played in 220 sets.

Last season she was part of the Sun Devil team that made it to the NCAA Tournament. In that season she lead her team with 132 blocks and finished fourth on the team in kills with 220.

Her 121 block assists in 2012 were the fourth most in Sun Devil single-season history.

Pinson was also very active in the classroom, earning PAC-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention in 2011 and 2012.
In her senior season in high school, Coleman was a team captain 2012.

She earned first team all-district honors, along with first team academic all-district honors in her time at Plano West.

As a senior Coleman recorded nine triple-doubles, 12 double-doubles and had 573 assists, 303 kills and 404 digs to finish the season.

Her team finished in third-place in district competition.

Coleman plans to major in sport management and marketing in her time at Ohio University.

She, along with Pinson, joins incoming freshmen Katie Horton, Ali Lake, and Mallory Salis in Ohio’s 2013 recruiting class.

The Bobcats continue their spring exhibition season April 13 against Dayton. The Bobcats will begin regular season play Aug. 30 at the University of Oregon Tournament.
