All results are unofficial until being certified by a May 27 deadline. For all the local and state election results as we get them, check our Election page here.

Update 9:20 p.m. With all but provisional ballots counted, Trimble's school levy, which had failed three times before, made a late push and leads 396-372.

Also without provisionals counted, Pat Lang leads Todd Grace 1,604-1,586 in the race for Athens County Common Pleas Court Judge. William Biddlestone has 570 votes.

Athens City Schools levy is well ahead, even without provisionals, 1,543-915 (63 percent).

There are 40 provisional ballots in Athens County, which will be tallied at the Athens County canvas on May 23 at 9 a.m. The board of elections certifies all the county's votes at the canvas.

Update 9:10 p.m. Belpre City School District's levy passed 655-263 (71 percent).

The levy for Warren Local Schools passed 1,677-948 (64 percent).

Polls in Ohio closed at 7:30 p.m. for the 2014 primary election, and the Associated Press is already calling a few races.

The first, and the least surprising, is that Ed FitzGerald will be the Democratic candidate for governor in the upcoming general election. FitzGerald, a Cuyahoga County Executive, easily beat Larry Ealy, and he will face incumbent Gov. John Kasich in November.

The AP is also reporting the statewide public works issue will pass. The public works issue would give local governments the funding to continue with capital improvement projects.

None of Tuesday's election results are official until the state board of elections certifies them at a later date. Local election boards have until May 27 to formally submit their votes for certification.
