South Gallia put themselves in position to make a playoff push, starting 4-3 in their first season of TVC-Hocking play. However, a 39-0 drubbing by fellow conference newcomer Wahama seemed to upend the Rebels’ season. They dropped their final two contests by a combined 60 points to end their campaign 4-6.

The bad news for the Rebels is that all four wins came against teams that won two games or less in 2010. The good news is that they have the talent to contend for a postseason berth. They lost a couple key players on the defensive side, but do return names like linebacker Danny Matney and safety Josh Cooper, both All-Conference selections. If Coach Jason Peck and the Rebels want to challenge the likes of the Tomcats and White Falcons, they’ll need to learn to contend in big games. If they can take their first two contests, their Week 3 showdown at Trimble will be a great test of their mettle.
